Jim Kidney is a life-long resident of northern Kentucky, having spent his entire life in

Campbell County.  He attended both the University of Kentucky and Northern Kentucky University during his undergraduate years.  Jim graduated from Salmon P. Chase College of Law in 1979.  He worked on the Beverly Hills Report during this period, and became especially well-trained in Anti-Trust law, having assisted one of his law professors in the writing of a treatise on the subject.

 

Jim has been in solo practice as a trial attorney for 35 years.  Jim has handled several

thousand cases in his 35 years, and now focuses his practice on criminal law, personal

injury, social security disability, contract law and civil litigation.

 

Jim is admitted to practice both before the Kentucky Bar and the Ohio Bar and has

practiced pro hac vice with out-of-state co-counsel in five other states.  Mr. Kidney is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals, and United States District Court - Eastern District of Kentucky, and the United States Supreme Court He is also admitted to practice before the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals.   He has appeared in over 75 counties before the district and circuit courts within the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

 

Jim is a former city attorney for the City of Highland Heights.  He is also a former

member of the OKI Regional Council of Governments in the 1970’s, and a former

adjunct professor of law at Northern Kentucky University where he taught contract law

and business law for five years.

 

Among Jim’s more notable clients were the St. Louis Cardinals baseball club, the San

Francisco Giants baseball club, Mrs. Marge Schott and the Cincinnati Reds, the

University of Cincinnati Basketball program and various sports departments and athletes

at Northern Kentucky University.  Additionally, he represented the late vice president of

the United States, Spiro T. Agnew, and actor George Peppard.

 

He has been a guest lecturer at the College of Mt. Saint Joseph, the University of

Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky University, Xavier University and the graduate studies program at Xavier University.
